Irish Oatmeal

Irish Oatmeal Old Fashioned Oats are traditional oat groats which have been steamed and rolled flat. Old fashioned oats produce a porridge which is more flavoursome and has a better texture than other quick cooking porridges. The oats are not cut meaning they retain more of their wholegrain natural goodness and are an excellent source of fibre, vitamin E, B vitamins and antioxidants, helping aid digestion, boost the immune system and lower cholesterol*.

Irish Oatmeal Steel Cut Oats are the whole groat (inner portion of the oat kernel) which are cut in half rather than rolled to deliver more crunch and texture. Steel cut oats take much longer than old fashioned oats to cook up but result in a rich golden colour and a distinctly nutty flavour. They are great for use in savoury dishes.

Steel cut oats have a much lower GI (Glycaemic Index) than instant oatmeal, meaning energy is released more slowly into the bloodstream helping to keep hunger pangs at bag for longer.

White’s Irish Oatmeal products are free from additives and preservatives and have not been genetically modified in any way.
