White’s has been working with Home-Start, the charity that provides support and friendship to families, since 2009. Since then White’s with its commitment to families and family life, has been providing financial support to the charity which it then uses to drive the charity’s volunteer recruitment and training programme.
Established in 1983, Home-Start schemes in Northern Ireland enlist and train volunteers, from all walks of life, to help families with young children, which for a wide variety of reasons find it difficult to cope with the stresses and strains of every day life.
Each year Home-Start works with nearly 900 volunteers to provide help and support to over 1,600 families and 3,000 children through the 26 schemes it operates in Northern Ireland.
We believe there is a natural synergy between White’s and Home-Start. For generations, White’s cereal products have provided all kinds of families with a trusted way to start the day giving them the energy to cope with the day ahead. In parallel Home-Start provides families with practical and emotional support to help them cope with the stresses of their daily lives supporting them in a diverse range of situations including bereavement, isolation, disability and illness.
By working together White’s and Home-Start are helping to build stronger families in Northern Ireland, boosting their wellbeing and helping them get the most out of life.
